ECEGA's Yana Popkostova honoured as a mentor for the GWNET Women in Energy Programme

The European Centre for Energy and Geopolitical Analysis is delighted to announce that Yana Popkostova will serve as a mentor at the German Ministry of Industry-sponsored Global Women Network for the Energy Transition Mentoring programme.

The programme aims to establish elevating relationships between senior professionals committed to making a difference and having a positive impact on a younger woman’s career in the energy sector with women starting their career path in the industry.

Yana Popkostova has demonstrated a personal commitment to advance the role of women as agents of change in the net-zero transformation and promote best practices within the sector. She is a featured speaker and consultant on empowering women to thrive in the energy industry and decision-making, as well as on eradicating cognitive biases within the sector.  In the wake of the announcement, Popkostova stated:

The European Centre for Energy and Geopolitical Analysis was the first organisation of its type to to pay consistent attention to the need of gender mainstreaming in energy and geopolitical policy and business development. Our research and analysis calculate risk caused by gender inequality in decision-making and operations and communicate a gender mainstreaming rationale in all its activities. Conscious of the gender gap in the field, we pioneer an approach which integrates more women in the energy sphere - both in energy politics and analysis, and in logistics, engineering and science.
